{Tibi is the Key}

Designer Amy Smilovic founded New York-based label Tibi in 1997 after three years in Asia, where she worked with local craftsmen to develop the vibrant prints that have become the label's signature. Inspired by a childhood love of illustration, Smilovic's graphic designs and brilliant use of color have won the label a strong following. We love its sequin-sprayed mini dresses and lace, bead and crystal-embellished gowns.

“And when at last you find someone to whom you feel you can pour out your soul, you stop in shock at the words you utter— they are so rusty, so ugly, so meaningless and feeble from being kept in the small cramped dark inside you so long.” — Sylvia Plath
