During the winter of 1956 all eyes were on the young actress Grace Kelly (1929-1982), who in November had confirmed her engagement with Prince Rainier III of Monaco. The future Princess was leaving Hollywood forever.
In the months before the wedding photographers followed her everywhere: walking in Philadelphia with her family, shopping at the 5th Avenue, in her single apartment packing up ... Grace was the undisputed star of all the magazines, because the Cinderella story seemed to come true.
In the pictures below you can see Grace buying some accessories for her future wife's dowry. The photographs were made by Lisa Larsen, a young promise of photography who was working for Life then.
